Dr Zahir Amin trained in Radiology at UCH/Middlesex and obtained his FRCR in 1994. He also undertook 18 months full-time Research and submitted his MD thesis in 1994 on Image Guided Liver Tumour Laser Ablation.
He was a Consultant Radiologist at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital in 1996-2002 with a special interest in Abdominal & GI/Luminal Imaging, and also set up an Endoscopic Ultrasound service. In 2002 he was appointed Consultant Radiologist at University College Hospital London, where he is the Lead Radiologist in HPB (Hepato-biliary) Imaging and Abdominal Sarcoma Imaging.
He is on the Editorial Board of British Journal of Radiology and E-Medicine.com, and a member of the British Society of GI & Abdominal Radiologists.
He has published and lectured on several topics: Pancreas Imaging and Intervention, Liver Imaging, Liver Tumour Ablation, GI Stromal Tumours, Acute Pancreatitis, Pancreatic Cancer, Pancreatic Cysts, MRCP, Imaging Cholangiocarcinomas, Radiological Gastrostomies, Endoscopic Ultrasound, CT Colonography, Small Bowel MRI.
